Lampard and Smith yet to decide on taking Norwich offer

Norwich City are yet to hear from Frank Lampard and Dean Smith about whether they want the manager's job.

Sky Sports says the pair have yet to decide if they want to take on the role of Norwich manager.

In a two-horse race as far as Norwich are concerned, further talks with Lampard and his representatives are planned later today.

Smith is currently visiting his son in New York, after taking some time out following his sacking last Sunday by Aston Villa.

The Norwich board and Sporting director Stuart Webber have been impressed by both candidates so far.

Smith is seen as a good fit for the club with a similar ethos, and vast experience in the Premier League and Championship with Aston Villa and Brentford.

Lampard is seen to offer a very different set of skills, and is viewed as a young and inspirational manager, whose name and standing in the game would help attract top players.

Norwich see this appointment as a key one for the future direction of the club and will take their time. No decision is expected before Sunday.
