Lambert to play for Liverpool before joining West Brom

Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert will keep West Bromwich Albion waiting over his impending transfer to the Baggies whilst he plays on the Merseysiders' tour of Asia.

West Brom are in advanced talks with Liverpool over the transfer of Lambert and are believed to be able to close a deal next week.

Lambert, however, will not be leaving this week as the Anfield side are currently engaged in a pre-season tour of Asia.

The 33-year-old is set to start against a Malaysian Select XI in Kuala Lumpur on Friday but, after failing to secure a place in Liverpool's starting line-up last season, will transfer to Albion once the tour ends.

Lambert may be joined at The Hawthorns by Borussia Dortmund's Colombian striker Adrian Ramos and Crystal Palace's Algerian midfielder Adlene Guedioura as West Brom boss Tony Pulis continues with his plans to revitalize the Baggies squad.
