Lambert insists Stoke keeper Butland unfazed by Liverpool link

Stoke manager Paul Lambert has insisted star goalkeeper Jack Butland will not have his head turned by big clubs after recent rumours linking him with a big-money transfer.

The Daily Star has claimed he has handed in a transfer request whilst The Sunon Sunday believe Liverpool will attempt to solve their keeper dilemma with a £40 million bid in the summer for the England international.

Lambert said: "I only heard about the story this morning and that Jack will quash the rumours. Butland is one of the goalkeepers going around, in Europe terms as well. Without a doubt the boy's a terrific goalkeeper, a good lad as well.

"Does it surprise me that rumours fly about? Not really, because rumours fly about all good players and he's one of the best.

"He's too good a guy, too good a pro to be affected by any talk. He's been terrific since I've been here."
