Lambert insists he has final say on Stoke transfers

Stoke City boss Paul Lambert insists he has final say on transfers.

Stoke are currently battling against the clock to add to their two January acquisitions before next week's deadline.

“To be fair, the club has said that as well, they have been excellent on that front and so I don't see that being an issue," he stated.

He says he has received the right support from technical director Mark Cartwright and chief executive Tony Scholes in chasing down targets already on Stoke's radar before his recent arrival.

“It's not difficult because Mark has been great and Tony has been great with me as well," said Lambert.

“I know exactly what's going on and I've watched a lot of football since I've been here. I have character references and that's important for anybody coming into the club.

“So it's not been too difficult. We need a bit of strengthening in certain positions and you watch it and have a look at it, but the club has done a lot of homework before."
