Villarreal remain keen to cut short the season-long loan of Takefusa Kubo.

While nothing is yet settled, there's an understanding between Villarreal and parent club Real Madrid that Kubo needs to move on.

AS says Real are happy to place Kubo at another LaLiga club rather than allow him to move abroad.

For the moment, Getafe, Real Betis and Real Sociedad are all in contact with Real Madrid about taking over Kubo's loan.

So far this season, Japan international Kubo has managed just seven starts, mainly in the Europa League.
