LaLiga president Tebas: Laporta knows Barcelona CANNOT buy Haaland

LaLiga president Javier Tebas is adamant Barcelona do not have the financial room to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Barca, despite their cash problems, have been linked with a move for the Norway international this summer.

But Tebas warned: "(Barca president Joan) Laporta knows what to do and that the situation is complicated. I have already given him my recommendations. He knows that he has a lot of work ahead of him and that there must be departures and also arrivals.

"It's not easy for FC Barcelona. The problem is that FC Barcelona's payroll is far too high due, above all, to losses from the previous year - 487 million euros. This penalises them a lot with regard to the payroll because, in this situation, they must work according to the rule of 1/4.

"Barça must break the 1/4 rule to complete a signing as important as that of Halaland. We all know what he asks for in salary and what Borussia Dortmund are asking for. It is not in the possibilities of FC Barcelona with the rule of 1/4."
