LaLiga president Javier Tebas has questioned the future of off contract Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

Tebas believes Barca cannot re-sign Messi on his current terms, while he also dismissed Manchester City's chances of landing the Argentine.

He explained, "He will not be able to sign with Barcelona on the previous terms. It is impossible. I do not think any European club would be able to pay that amount.

"Manchester City have lost a lot of money during the corona pandemic, so of course they will not even consider picking up Messi on his previous salary.

"If they do, they will be financial doping. I've told Pep Guardiola that too. I have said directly to him: 'Would you have won so many titles without so much financial doping?'."
