Former Bayern Munich fullback Philipp Lahm has shrugged off criticism from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp took aim at Lahm after he blasted Germany coach Joachim Low.

But Lahm told Handelsblatt, "Criticism is always included, and I'm more of a self-critical person.

"Sure, when you do something like that, it's talked about, and I know that not everybody likes it.

"As an honorary and longtime captain, I see myself also in the responsibility to stimulate discussion. I've put my thoughts at the ready to speak openly."
