LA Galaxy want Ibrahimovic over Man Utd pal Rooney

LA Galaxy are targeting Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Sun says MLS side the LA Galaxy – who can boast Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole and Robbie Keane already in their ranks – are hoping to snatch the United forward on a free in the summer.

The news would come as a blow to Wayne Rooney – who has been linked with a move to the west coast having been dropped to Jose Mourinho's bench.

With the Los Angeles outfit looking to stray away from signing purely ageing stars, that could mean only room for one of the United pair – with headline-stealing Ibra the prime target.

One potential stumbling block for the deal is Ibrahimovic's contract - which has the option for one extra year.
