Omar Gonzalez is eagerly anticipating his USA comeback after six months without an international cap.
The LA Galaxy centre-back, 26, last played for the US in former club teammate Landon Donovan's swansong against Ecuador on October 10 last year and is thrilled to be back in the fray ahead of Wednesday night's friendly with arch rivals Mexico in San Antonio.
"I'm excited," Gonzalez said.
"I haven't been with the national team since, I think, Landon's last game. It's been a while.
"I'm just ready to get back with the group, put my head down, work hard, and hopefully get a much-needed result."
Gonzalez, who was born in Texas to Mexican parents, admits it is a massive clash for dual citizens like himself.
"Couldn't be bigger [than playing against Mexico], so I'm excited," he added.
