LA Galaxy are making an attempt for Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

The Sun says Galaxy could be about to lose Steven Gerrard — one of two designated players who can break the wage cap.

And they want to replace him with the United skipper, 31, who has been told he needs to move if he wants regular first-team football.

Galaxy have begun asking advisors how much Rooney would cost.

Gerrard gets £4million a year — a quarter of what Rooney is on right now.

The United skipper has not started their last six games, the last two due to injury.
