LA Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders admits it has been difficult losing fellow gloveman Donovan Ricketts this off-season.
The Jamaican veteran was picked up by expansion franchise Montreal Impact at the end of November in exchange for allocation money and although it means less competition from his own position, Saunders says it is tough to be without such a quality teammate.
"That's difficult, but with this league these are decisions you have to make and we have to move forward from here.""It's a situation where it's a great friend and great teammate that we're losing," he told ESPN LA.
Ricketts made 15 appearances for the MLS Cup winners in 2011 with Saunders preferred in goal by head coach Bruce Arena for the majority of the campaign.
