LA Galaxy boss Gullit: Beckham ready for England

LA Galaxy boss Ruud Gullit says David Beckham is fit for England after their 0-0 friendly draw against FC Dallas.

"David has played 90 minutes in most of the games in pre-season," said the ex-Chelsea manager. "He is an excellent player and a great example for the team.

"He has the experience you need to get the younger players to a better level and in the game he gave some excellent killer passes.

"If we'd been able to convert them, it would have made the game easier for us."

Beckham added: "My game is about delivering the ball in the right places and that's not going to change because I'm out here.

"It's not as if my game will alter because the standard is different. As far as I'm concerned, my game will always be the same. I've never been the sort of player who will go past my defender with my pace.

"But give me five yards and I'll put the ball in the places where someone will want it."
