Kyle Walker accepts Man City axe: I was the unlucky one

Kyle Walker took his omission on the chin after Manchester City's defeat of Chelsea.

Despite missing out, the defender insisted he was okay with bring dropped, because he knows the strength in the squad.

The game was won for City thanks to a man who hasn't been involved in the team too often, Riyad Mahrez.

"Credit where credit is due, he's had to sit on the sidelines for a few weeks," he said.

“I think that shows the character and the belief he has in himself to get the individual goal and get the winner.

“I just think it's the standard of the team, it's so high in competition for places throughout the field.

“I was the unlucky one, I had to sit out yesterday, you've just got to take it on the chin and hopefully I'll be in the team for the Champions League game."
