Krzysztof Piatek is delighted with his move to Fiorentina.
The Hertha Berlin striker has joined on-loan for six months with the option to buy.
“Genoa will always be in my heart, I did some great things there, but I am in a great project now. Fiorentina play wonderful football and that is important, because as a striker I want to score lots of goals," said Piatek in his press conference.
“I think that I am the kind of forward who helps the team. It's important for me to prove myself in training and earn my place in the side.
“I am ready to whip out the guns again for my 'Pistolero' celebration at the Stadio Franchi. I think it's possible we can qualify for Europe, as we are on the right track."
Piatek faces fierce competition for a starting spot from current Viola superstar Dusan Vlahovic.
“He is a great striker, but I got 30 goals in one season too," noted Piatek.
“Vlahovic has talent, potential and I think we could also play together if needed, seeing as coach Vincenzo Italiano often changes up his tactics.
“As for myself, I am more experienced and I would say that I'm certainly a better player now than when I left Italy."
