Krasnodar striker Wanderson Maciel insists they can be proud of their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Chelsea.

The Russians finished third in their group.

“I appreciate our way in the Champions League positively," said Wanderson. "I think if the key players of Krasnodar were in optimal shape throughout the group stage, then we could have achieved more.

"But it's a great experience anyway. We started the Champions League with large personnel losses, it was difficult, but the last three games were played at a high level. If we move in this direction, we will be able to achieve great results both in the Europa League and in the RPL.

"I had a great experience in this Champions League, scored the first goal, played some important matches. Such games provide an opportunity to grow professionally. I would like to congratulate and thank the team for their work. All the guys fought well in the Champions League matches and showed that everyone can be counted on when necessary.
