Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth has revealed his influence in Alexander Isak's move.

The striker joined Newcastle last week from Real Sociedad.

Krafth told Fotbollkanalen of his Sweden teammate: "They asked me a lot about him here at the club, both the scouts and the coaches. The first time we (Krafth and Isak) talked was a couple of months ago. The last time was a couple of days before it was ready.

"I told him about how everything worked, plans and all that. He also had many questions about the club, the city and everything you want to know before signing a contract. Both Isak and the club have had many questions for me. Of course, I only had good things to say about Isak because I know what a good footballer he is.

"No matter what, it was Isak's decision. But perhaps I have had a small impact. They have asked a lot about how he is as a player and person, while Isak asked questions about the team and the city. I think it will suit him very well."
