Kouyate delighted with winning Crystal Palace debut

Cheikhou Kouyate was delighted to make his debut for Crystal Palace in their 4-1 win over Toulouse.

The 28 year old Senegal captain was pleased post-match to reflect on the important win with the start of the season only now a week away.

He told cpfc.co.uk: “I am so excited to have had the chance to play for my new club in this game and I feel very good.

“It was good for our confidence to win this game but the tactic now is to be ready for the Fulham game because that we are now at just a week before that game."

He added: “I am ready to get started but all the players have made me very welcome, making me feel at home but it is now about me getting myself ready to play in the team.

“Pape, Tomkins and Luka, everybody has been helping me to settle into this team and now I must continue to work hard for this season and hopefully have an unbelievable season for this team."

“We are all looking forward to it beginning and cannot wait."
