The agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has revealed he had Premier League offers last summer.

Bruno Satin was asked about Liverpool's stunning £75m swoop for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk this week.

"He had already been searched in the summer by Manchester City and Liverpool and then an auction was created," Satin told Radio Crc.

"In England he is considered one of the top defenders and played for a mid-table club and it was obvious that he could play for an important team and for an important figure.

"It is not the time to make comparisons and evaluations because every situation is different. Southampton is a very different reality from Napoli. It always depends on the club's willingness to restrain him and the player to leave.

"But we keep this talk for ourselves, he is happy to play in Naples and hopes to reach the Scudetto goal. Most players of this Napoli are sought by top teams."
