Everton striker Arouna Kone has triggered a 12-month extension in his contract with the Toffees after playing in the 6-2 demolition of Sunderland at Goodison Park.
The Ivorian, who scored a hat-trick in the game, made his 35th appearance for the club, the threshold that secured him a new deal at the Merseyside outfit.
The 31-year-old striker has already scored five goals for the Toffees this season, after previously suffering through two injury-plagued seasons with the club.
