Kompany wants Maloney reunion at Burnley

Vincent Kompany wants Shaun Maloney to join him at Burnley.

The Sun says former Hibs boss Maloney is the frontrunner to replace Mark McGhee following Dundee's relegation to the Championship.

But Anderlecht coach Kompany is keen to link up with his ex-Belgium coach if he takes over at Burnley.

The Clarets are ready to bring in the former Manchester City skipper to spearhead their bid to return to the Premier League after they dropped down to the Championship last weekend.

Kompany, 36, had been in charge at Anderlecht in his homeland for the last two seasons, but left the club earlier this week in preparation for his expected appointment at Turf Moor.

It would be the former defender's first taste of life in management in British football and he is looking to bring in a coach with experience of the leagues.
