Koeman not disappointed that Kone still at Everton

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been talking about striker Arouna Kone, who saw a move to Crystal Palace fall through at the end of the transfer window.

Koeman said: "Everybody knows there was some interest, but no deal. I don't know why. There was interest from different clubs, Crystal Palace was one of them, but there was no deal and he is still an Everton player until the end of the season.

"His role is difficult, he has not been involved in a lot of games this season and had some physical issues but I like him. All the front players are good in fitness but if we get injuries maybe we need him and he needs to wait for the opportunity.

"It is difficult for him at the moment but in football things change very quickly. I'm happy he is still here and maybe we still need Arouna."
