Ronald Koeman insists Josep Maria Bartomeu was a good president for Barcelona.

Bartomeu has been widely blamed for the state of the club's finances.

But former Barca coach Koeman says: “I have always gotten along very well with Bartomeu. For me, he has been a very good president for this club. Sure he's done his stuff, but he's earned his titles.

"I don't know exactly what has happened in recent years, it's an economic issue. With him, Barça was at its best level."

On his problems with current president Joan Laporta, Koeman added: “I want the best for Barça and, for so I want the best for him."
