Zat Knight has told the Birmingham Mail he wants to see out his contract with Aston Villa but will look elsewhere if boss Martin O'Neill does not see him as part of his plans. The 29-year-old has two years remaining on his deal following a £4million move from Fulham two years ago.
"Do I expect to be a Villa player next season? I hope so," said Knight.
"That's why I signed a long-term contract for four years but it's up to the manager.
"If he doesn't want you I'm sure he would let you know and if you're not wanted I'm sure you could go and look somewhere else.
"I want to be here, I want to fight to be in the first XI but it's in the manager's hands."
