Former Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert says his old club must act fast to sign Ajax pair Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong.

Kluivert warns Manchester City are also interested in both players.

"They are two great players who would fit in well with Barça," Kluivert told Mundo Deportivo. "They are both internationals and their value is increasing. There are many clubs that want to attract them, but the style of Barcelona is important to them - they will include this in their decision. They fit well with Barça.

"I know that Manchester City is also after them, which is economically a strong club and that can be a problem for Barça, the sheikhs."

On De Jong, he says: "A wonderful player. He looks like (Sergio) Busquets and always looks ahead, he plays very vertically and directly."

He is also full of praise for De Ligt.

"A great defender. He is very strong, exudes calm and is good on the ball. He has the qualities to play for any team, also for Barça. I would get him right away."
