Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told club chiefs he wants Timo Werner added to his squad this summer.

The Guardian says Klopp have not given up hope of signing RB Leipzig striker Werner.

Klopp has told the board that the Germany international would be perfect for his team.

Werner is happy to wait to see what Liverpool will do before making a decision about his future, but his £52.7m release clause is due to expire on June 15.

Chelsea are also in the frame for the striker.
