Klopp taking Liverpool winning run in his stride

Jurgen Klopp says winning five of seven matches is not a cause for celebration at Liverpool.

The Merseyside outfit defeated Derby County 3-0 in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night to make it three wins on the trot and an unbeaten run which has extended to five.

Despite the decent run of form, Klopp was not getting carried away as that is what he and his players are there to do.

"The pleasing thing is that I don't feel anything – it's not that we are surprised and think 'OK, let's take a week's break and celebrate it'," he said.

"We had the games, we played them, we are professionals. I've always thought in my life the difference between home and away should not be that big, especially when you have a good side – which is what we are – but of course it was difficult.

"I don't want to underestimate it and say it's normal. I know what the fixtures are and we have to play them again next year probably, that's not a problem.

"In this moment, for us it is absolutely OK and it's actually what we expected from us."

Liverpool will now prepare for Saturday's Premier League clash with Hull City at Anfield.
