Jurgen Klopp admits Manchester City are one of the only teams that can smash Liverpool.

City pulled off a 4-0 thrashing of the Reds on Thursday, just a week after handing over the title to Klopp's side.

But the German isn't surprised his side capitulated against a team of City's quality.

He told BBC Sport: "If there is a team in the world that can smash us like this it is probably City but we will come again. Make a few things better and it could look differently but for tonight that is it.

"If City are clicking it is uncomfortable to play them. It is very uncomfortable to play us. We had good moments but it is difficult to mention them because we lost 4-0. The boys showed we are ready to fight again."
