Klopp insists Liverpool benefitted from Champions League final loss

Jurgen Klopp believes his side have learned from last season's Champions League final defeat.

The Reds booked their place in the quarter-finals with an impressive away win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

And Klopp thinks his side have been able to cope with pressure better following the loss to Real Madrid last season.

He said: "It's normal that you want to prove things but we don't wake up in the morning and think we lost in these finals.

"It's not important but we try to use it in a positive way and it's natural you want to make things better.

"The experience we've had so far has helped us a lot, it helped us against Bayern.

"The last five Champions League games we lost is because we didn't defend like we wanted to but at Munich we did and from this basis you can win, it's the experience from last year we get this and it has helped a lot.

"If there is a final at the end good - but we think about that at the end, not now."
