Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has overseen a record number of permanent departures this summer.
The Liverpool Echo says in securing his last-ditch switch to Ligue 1 outfit Nice on Wednesday afternoon, Mario Balotelli became the 13th player to leave Anfield this summer.
And only once before, in the club's 124-year history, have there been so many permanent departures in one summer.
The previous high was set in 2005 on the back of the club's fifth Champions League triumph.
In total 22 players went through the Anfield exit door this summer, but nine of those will return having only left on loan.
