Former Premier League striker Paul Kitson has slammed Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah for 'cheating'.
Salah won a penalty before successfully converting his spot-kick during the Reds' 4-0 Boxing Day rout at Anfield. And despite some claiming he dived, Salah was cleared of any wrongdoing.
However, Kitson wrote for The Sun: “The truth is that Salah falling over at Anfield against Newcastle with Liverpool top of the league and already winning the match, is the easiest decision any referee can make.
“It's cheating and I don't recognise it as part of the game that I love.
“Unfortunately, the rewards in football are such that many players feel no shame in throwing themselves to the floor and there is absolutely no doubt the biggest players in the biggest teams are favoured by most teams."
