Tottenham captain Ledley King is convinced they can build on last season's run to the Champions League quarterfinals.
He believes there was no shame in their eventual exit to Real Madrid and feels Spurs can be confident of taking on any side in the future.
King told the club's website: "It was a great journey for us, a new journey, going into the unknown a little bit and playing against some of the biggest teams in Europe.
"I think we equipped ourselves brilliantly but ultimately we fell short against Real Madrid, who are one of the top sides around.
"Overall I think there's a lot of pluses we can take from the season and, although we won't be playing in the Champions League next season, we now realise we can mix it with the likes of Milan, Inter and Real Madrid."
