Kilmarnock manager McInnes full of praise for Liverpool loanee Chambers

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes was full of praise for Liverpool loanee Luke Chambers.

The 18-year-old defender was impressive during a 1-0 win over Dundee United this week.

Chambers provided the assist for Daniel Armstrong to score after 35 minutes for Kilmarnock.

"It was a great debut for Luke Chambers," said McInnes.

"He played a part in the goal, he picked out the pass, he was quality in possession. He was making his senior debut at 18, there was a lot of nerves, but the level of performance was very mature.

“36 years ago I made my first senior debut and I certainly didn't play as good as him! He was outstanding. He looks about 13 but he plays like a 30-year-old!

"He's so mature, he's so calm with his defending, his decision making on the ball was very good, his choice of passes, his choice of crosses, none more so than for Danny's goal and he's fitted in brilliantly."
