Kilmarnock boss predicts a relegation dogfight

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies predicts several teams will be battling against the drop this campaign. The Rugby Park club currently sit third in the SPL but Jefferies is well aware of just how quickly that can change.

"I don't think there is any cause for concern in terms of them being at the bottom of the league," he said.

"This league is so tight and, when you look at the fixtures every week, you can never predict the results.

"They have to win matches to get out of it.

"People say Kilmarnock is a tough place to come to and the form has been good for us in terms of results so hopefully we can keep it going again.

"Let's be honest, it could happen to anyone down there. Falkirk know what they have to do, they have a good set-up and they're a good club.

"It's going to be a dogfight for a lot of clubs and that's why we shouldn't get carried away, even though we are third, because a couple of results can set you back.

"We have shown we are capable of challenging where we want to be in the top six and it's all about making sure our application is spot on every week.

"If not, you will struggle in this league because everybody is very similar and capable of beating each other."
