Kevin Kilbane fears the Republic of Ireland could lose Norwich City star Anthony Pilkington to England.

Kilbane wrote in the Daily Mail: "This season, as Norwich have improved under Chris Hughton, he has been on fire.

"I just hope we're not too late because he would be a fabulous addition to the Ireland squad, and has the talent to be a regular for years.

"Roy Hodgson has shown he is not afraid to pick and play young players who are doing well for their clubs, and I am sure he will have noted Pilkington's performances and his comments.

"If the paperwork needs to be sorted then that can be done quickly by the FAI. And then hopefully someone can work their magic to get him in Dublin for the friendly against Poland."
