Former Burnley star Michael Kightly thinks Sean Dyche should be offered the manager's job for life.
Dyche has had Burnley punching above their weight in the Premier League for seven plus seasons, which also included a brief run in Europe.
And Kightly thinks Dyche should never be threatened with the sack at Turf Moor.
"Football is a very cut throat business and if results are not going well then managers tend to go pretty quickly but I think the gaffer at Burnley should have had a job for life," Kightly told LancsLive.
"He has done wonders for the club and I think he appreciates them as much as they do him so it is a perfect relationship really.
"He is a good manager, someone you want to play for and the lads showed that in the performances in the promotion season and by how well they have done since I left by getting into Europe.
"Things like that are in a large way down to the gaffer and his coaching staff."
