Kieft blasts 'outrageous' ex-Man Utd pair LVG, Mourinho: You're no Ancelotti

Former Holland striker Wim Kieft has slammed former Manchester United managers Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal.

Kieft admits their boasting turns him off and both veteran managers should take a leaf out of the book of Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The former PSV star told De Telegraaf: "How José Mourinho behaved, or rather misbehaved, was waiting for his resignation at Manchester United. In fact, he did little to nothing at Old Trafford when you see the unlimited financial possibilities.

"He has spent no less than 466 million euros and with that he can give Louis van Gaal a hand. He also did nothing at Manchester United, despite spending 340 million euros.

"Outrageous if you hear the two talking about the poor purchasing policy of the club management or the lack of football culture of the American club owner.

"At that level you have to perform, otherwise you fly out. Without pity huh. These are also trainers who then keep their mouths shut for half a year or longer to secure their remaining salary.

"The behavior of Van Gaal and Mourinho bothers me enormously.

"That boasting, showing off and profiling himself is in the character of people like Mourinho and Van Gaal. I never hear Zinédine Zidane or Carlo Ancelotti talking about himself, while those two have won every conceivable prize as a player and trainer. Ancelotti has won the Champions League five times, three as a player and two as a trainer. He never talks like that."
