SuperSport defender Bongani Khumalo will become a Tottenham player in January after the two clubs agreed a fee of£1.5million.
The 23-year old South Africa international had a trial with Spurs last month and impressed enough for Harry Redknapp to make a move for his services.
Khumalo flew to London on Thursday to talk through personal terms and will now join the club for a South African record fee.
A source close to the deal said: "Tottenham have requested that Khumalo be allowed to train with them again when the SuperSport fixture calendar allows him to travel to England.
"SuperSport's next game is on October 16, and that is why they allowed him to take the trip to England."
