Kewell fears for Leeds: I'd prefer to be in Burnley's situation

Leeds United hero Harry Kewell has warned his old club they're not safe from the drop.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Kewell claimed he is disappointed to see Leeds down near the bottom and labelled tonight's trip to Crystal Palace as must-win with the fixtures coming up.

He said: “I know, it's frightening to see. It's slightly disappointing because they are a fantastic club and they've worked so hard to get where they've got. But looking at their run-in, again I have to agree with Michael [Owen], I'd be happy to be in Burnley's situation at the moment.

“The new manager, getting a couple of wins, the momentum's there. With Everton and Leeds, they've got a tough run-in and it's going to be difficult. If they can scrape through tomorrow and get three points, maybe that can ease the pressure. But it's definitely going to be difficult for Leeds.

“One hundred per cent [on if Leeds need points at Palace] – and I'm not just saying one point. I'd like to see them get three to get that breathing space because the next three games are going to be very difficult for them."
