Kevin Richardson announces Newcastle departure

Kevin Richardson is leaving his U21 assistant coaching position at Newcastle.

The former England international has served the club well and at times has stepped in as reserve team boss. But leaves to spend more time with his family.

Richardson said: "I have very much enjoyed my work at the Academy and wish the players and staff every success for the future as I look forward to spending more time with my family after what has been an incredible career."

United also thanked Richardson for his services and said: "Newcastle United extends its sincere thanks to Kevin for his many years of service and wishes him the best for the future.

"The club's search for a new Under-21s assistant coach is under way. His departure brings to an end a 12-year career with the Academy where Kevin coached the Under-18 and Under-21 age groups."
