American businessman Kevin M Nagle is the prospective new owner of Huddersfield Town.
The Championship club confirmed a takeover was taking place with an unnamed American consortium last week.
Now they have named Nagle, a California-based businessman who owns Sacramento Republic FC in the USL Championship, as that owner.
A statement from the Terriers on Tuesday read: “We can today confirm that American businessman, investor, and Sacramento Republic Football Club CEO and owner Kevin M Nagle is the prospective new owner of Huddersfield Town, subject to legislative and governance procedures."
Per The Mail, former chairman Dean Hoyle will write off around £40 million he is owed as part of this deal.
That will prevent the club going into administration and what would have been certain relegation as the result of a points deduction.
