Martin Keown has hailed West Ham United attacker Andy Carroll as the player with the best aerial ability.

Carroll scored a fine header during West Ham United's 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday evening and after the game, Keown hailed the Englishman's ability in the air.

Keown said: "You want Manuel Lanzini or Marko Arnautovic putting balls into him and he's probably the best headerer of a ball in the Premier League.

"He's like Tarzan flying through the jungle for the goal. He takes off, it's remarkable. He was shattered, he did everything for the team today. Fitness is a problem but he's back on track again. You do get a mixed bag, very much, but he brings something different when he plays.

"He's more of an old-fashioned centre-forward, if you like, and he'll have the ball into his chest. He's exceptional in the air if you give him the chance. If he gets two strides on you, I don't care who you are, you're not going to stop him in the air."
