Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown heaped praise on Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba for his performance in Switzerland on Wednesday night.

Pogba scored twice in victory at Champions League opponents Young Boys.

“Pogba was the guv'nor last night," he told the Daily Mail.

“That finish, where he switched it from his right foot on to his left, was simply sublime.

“He exposed the sheer gulf in class between Young Boys and Manchester United.

“The relationship between Pogba and Jose Mourinho seems cordial and professional.

“When Mourinho was disparaging about his achievements with France this summer, maybe it was a way of laying down the gauntlet to demand more from his midfielder.

“Pogba certainly embraced the challenge in last night's victory."
