Kennedy's Nagoya Grampus gets better of Brosque's Shimizu S-Pulse

Josh Kennedy kicked off the new J-League season with a goal in Nagoya Grampus' 1-0 win over Shimizu S-Pulse.

The Australian international converted a 33rd minute penalty as his side got the better of fellow Socceroo Alex Brosque's team at the Toyota Stadium.

The goal was Kennedy's second of the season after he netted from the penalty spot in last week's Asian Champions League 2-2 draw with Seongnam Ilhwa in which he played against another Australian in Sasa Ognenovski.

The 29-year old has now scored 16 goals in his past 20 outings for both club and country in all competitions.
