Newcastle and former boss Kevin Keegan appear to have reached agreement over the level off pay-off the ex-Toon manager will receive, reports the Sunday Sun. Talks between lawyers representing United and their former manager have now been ongoing since early February.
And it is understood that, with most hurdles to a settlement having been overcome, both sides are optimistic of reaching agreement in the next few weeks on the level of pay-off Keegan will receive.
Keegan initially launched a claim against the club for constructive dismissal. With Newcastle, in turn, demanding £2 million from Keegan for breach of contract.
