Robbie Keane feels his LA Galaxy side has a bit of work to do before they kickstart the 2015 MLS season.
The reigning champions were beaten 3-2 by San Jose Earthquakes in a pre-season friendly at the Avaya Stadium on Saturday which suggested to captain Keane that they are not quite ready for Friday night's first kick against Chicago Fire at StubHub Center.
"I don't think that we're quite there yet to be honest with you," last year's MLS MVP told the Galaxy's official website.
"Some players have played 90 minutes which has certainly helped for next week, but I don't think that we're there yet.
"This is what preseason is for though because the results don't matter.
"You want to put things into practice for the upcoming season, but conceding goals especially on set pieces shouldn't happen, but it was an OK [performance]."
Jose Villarreal and Keane were both on target in the second half as the Galaxy came from 2-0 and 3-1 down to almost force a draw at the Quakes' 'soft' opening of their brand new stadium.
