Keane hails Liverpool fullback Alexander-Arnold: What a player. Fantastic

Manchester United great Roy Keane has hailed Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold for transforming the position.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season so far, scoring two goals registering 10 assists in the Premier League this term.

Thanks to his form the England international is on track to break his own record of 13 assists by a defender in a single league campaign, which came in 2019-20.

"Absolutely brilliant," Keane told Sky Sports after Liverpool's win at Crystal Palace. "What a player. Fantastic. The stats are absolutely brilliant, brilliant player, local lad bet he can't believe his luck. [The] chances he creates, the assists - unbelievable.

"[He] looks like a good athlete, a decent lad, a brilliant player and we all get excited about attacking players but to get excited about a full-back it's how the game's changed over the last few years. The full-backs are so important.

"The assists and positions he gets himself in, he's brave, got a lot of courage - what a brilliant player."
