Keane believes momentum with Everton going into new season

Everton defender Michael Keane believes momentum is with them going into the new season.

As Keane enters his third season at Everton, he hopes to build on the success of his second and move further away from the troubles of his first.

“It was night and day from the year before," he told the Liverpool Echo when comparing his first two seasons at Goodison.

“Especially the last four months of the season were really good, we kept a lot of clean sheets and I felt really confident.

“But that is now in the past and I've got to look at this season, but I do take confidence from that. Hopefully we can start the season how we finished the last one and do even better."

He added: “I do feel like I am becoming one of the main men in the team and someone who is playing most of the time. And when you are playing well it gives you that confidence and hopefully that rubs off on other players as well."
