Giorgos Karagounis is keen to return to Fulham - following the sacking of Felix Magath.
The German tactician decided to release Greece international Karagounis following Fulham's relegation to the second tier of English football at the end of last season.
Speaking to the Independent, Karagounis' representative Paschalis Tountouris said: "I am quite sure that he would not deny helping the team in this difficult moment.
"He has a special relationship with the fans, he loved them and they loved him.
"He sees the team is doing badly and he is very down, he would think very seriously about joining them even in the Championship if they made an offer."
