Kane expecting Tottenham colleague Lamela to continue improvement

Tottenham striker Harry Kane believes teammate Erik Lamela will only get better after the Argentine scored his first goal of the 2015/16 Premier League season in Tottenham's 4-1 win over Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Kane, who also found the back of the net in Spurs' impressive win, said he expects Lamela to grow in confidence following his performance against City.

"[I'm] very pleased for [him]. He has taken some criticism over the last year or so. But this season he has proved what a year he could have," Kane said.

"He works hard for the team up and down the pitch and I am delighted with the fact he scored.

"He probably knows that he's playing well and that's what it's like, you're looking forward to the next game, you want to be out there playing. Hopefully he can keep building the confidence and getting better and better."
